About This Project

Wylam Brewery @ The Palace of Arts

Wylam Brewery have recently moved into the Palace of arts, the last remaining building from the 1929 North East Exhibition which was a project designed to celebrate and encourage craft, art and industry at the start of the great depression.

Having remaining almost derelict for nearly a decade the building has now sprung back to life as a fully operational working Brewery. Alongside the Brewery there is a Brewery Tap, which is open to the public Thursdays to Saturdays for events such as concerts, weddings, pop up events and more.

GastroNorth have a great relationship with the Wylam Brewery owners Rob Cameron and Matt Boyle so we’re naturally tasked with the design, supply and installation of all catering and bar areas at the palace of arts, GastroNorth were set a £150,000 budget to deliver and capable of handling the demands of a popular city centre location.

Bob Vardy, Sales Manager at GastroNorth said: “The project went exactly to plan, with the building being so old and listed we had to be mindful of the structural constraints we had to adhere to during installation and fit out. The equipment and bars look fantastic, we’ve optimised space and carefully chose equipment to match the menu and Chef’s requirements. By brining together products from Mareno, Blue Seal, Hobart, Williams, Precision and Unox we have provided equipment that’s built to last, while providing innovation, flexibility and peace of mind”.
