GastroNorth Ltd have partnered Newcastle’s most talked about restaurant and late bar Aveika which is located in the heart of the city on the Quayside.

Aveika offers up a modern interpretation of traditional Japanese cuisine where style and sophistication is fused. The inspiration comes from the oriental concept of Izakaya (居酒屋) which in the most simple definition is a drinking establishment which serves up food.

GastroNorth were involved with the project from the concept stage and worked closely with owner Imran Khaliq to deliver a spectacular kitchen worthy of such a prestigious venue. The kitchen features equipment from Iglu, Biome, Blue Seal, Unox, Sammic, Foster, Williams, Adande, Bartizan, Sumuzo, Hoshizaki. The centre piece of the kitchen is the Clay Oven Company Yakatori Grill which uses Binchotan Charcoal to create an authentic flavour for the seafood, meat and organic vegetables the restaurant has to offer.

Richard is fond of the building having been responsible for the kitchens and bars of three of its previous developments in its last twenty five years history.
